Ingredients:

MSM- the exact mechanism of action is not known. The high sulfur content of MSM may improve the function of the structural proteins of connective tissues and make them more pressure resistant. It probably exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by potentially inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, interleukin-1 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha.

Menthol- has local anesthetic effects. It causes vasodilatation followed by a cold sensation due to stimulation of “cold” receptors and blocking of Ca+ currents of nerve cells.

Lemongrass- only the citratus form used here has sufficient amounts of the active beta-myrcene that gives the characteristic pain relief through peripheral analgesia.

Arnica- this well known herb has potent anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the so called NF-kappa-beta factor. The down regulation of this molecule in turn diminishes the outpouring of cytokines thus preventing inflammation. Arnica also has a considerable opening effect on the circulation which allows irritants to be “washed out” from the injured area.

Curcumin- a strong COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory properties.

Boswellia- by inhibiting the 5-lipox enzyme, the alternative pathway to the COX-2 enzyme, it significantly reduces pain and inflammation.

Rosemary- improves circulation and speeds recovery to a normal state.

Cosmoperine- this black pepper extract enhances the penetration of the active ingredients deep into the tissue layers.
