The principal use of gravel root consists in removing kidney and bladder stone formations, but it has also been found helpful in managing bladder inflammations, painful urination, and prostatitis. As always, from an anthroposophical point of view one needs to look at the wider picture and understand that this herb is useful in removing "stones" in many parts of the body, so that it can be helpful in arthritis and gout and other conditions where hard deposits may occur. On a mental level it may help to remove fixed hardened concepts.
