Current Science & Research:
Tracite is a rich bioactive mixture of minerals, humic acids and fulvic acids derived from shale. Trace minerals are essential for the body’s physiologic functioning. The higher the fulvic acid content the higher the quality of the mixture. Independent laboratories confirmed that while it is customary to find up to 2 grams /liter of fulvic acid, in Tracite 7.2 grams/liter were found.
Devil’s Claw has been found to be more effective in chronic inflammatory situations than in acute. In several studies the effect was comparable to phenylbutazone or indomethacin. No effects were seen on the cyclooxygenase system and thus on the inflammatory prostaglandin production. Consequently it will not have the same irritant effect on the intestinal tract mucosa as COX inhibitors.
Nettle, similar to the drug Enbrel®, inhibits the genetic transcription factor that activates TNF-alpha and IL-1 in synovial tissue. Moreover, nettles protect the joints by inhibiting metalo protease enzymes from breaking down and digesting the extra cellular matrix. Nettles have also been found to increase the effect of other prescription anti inflammatory drugs such that their dose could be reduced by up to 75%.
Gentian – The bitters in gentian, monoterpene glycosides, are among the strongest known to man. They stimulate gastric juices, increase bile flow, reduce fever, increase the immune system in infections and help convalescence after illnesses.
White Willow bark contains phenolic compounds which when ingested transform into salicylic acid. Its anti inflammatory and anti pyretic activity is well known. Interestingly the salicin compound of the willow bark has to be transformed in the blood and liver into salicylic acid the active compound. Thus it does not irritate the intestinal lining. Contrary to Aspirin which is an acetylated salicylic acid the willow bark compounds do not have most of the side effects of the medication.
Kolla2 is an unhydrolyzed low molecular weight cartilage type II derived from chicken sternum. Collagen type II is the major component of joint cartilage. Kolla 2 contains 65-70% collagen type II and 30-35% mucopolysaccharides like chondroitin, glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. They are absorbed as nutrients into the joint and synovial fluid and help repair of the tissues. Other products use a hydrolysation of the collagen protein which means that the digestion of the protein occurs outside the body and then is spray dried into powder by using high temperatures. It then becomes less effective. Unhydrolyzed kolla2, used in Cartilage Forte is produced through a patented low temperature process that preserves maximum biological activity.
